A colourful assortment of sofas alone is not enough!

Did you know that sitting for more than six hours a day can shorten your life expectancy by two years? Even regular sports activities cannot make up for this. The average office worker spends 80 to 85 per cent of his or her working hours sitting down. This issue can only be tackled with a healthy office infrastructure that intuitively encourages all employees to move and be active. Trade visitors at ORGATEC 2018 can find out how to achieve this at the Health Culture Knowledge Forum in Hall 10.1 from 23 to 27 October 2018.

The Knowledge Forum will shed light on health culture from different perspectives. In a panel discussion, managers and staff will join researchers to share their views on the evolution of health culture in Germany. In another panel titled “A colourful assortment of sofas alone is not enough!”, psychologists, HR managers and project developers from the property industry will look for the “ingredients of a healthy health culture”. Jenö Kleemann, founding member of Eurocres Consulting GmbH and Partner at the Berlin-based consultancy, will open the Knowledge Forum with the talk series “Health culture yesterday – today – tomorrow”.

Alongside the talks and panel discussions, the core of the Knowledge Forum will be an interactive road map of health culture, which will occupy the whole wall of the trade fair stand. The road map will provide ORGATEC visitors with a complete overview of the topic. It will also present further information on health issues in daily work – from room comfort factors to transformation and change management.

This will be accompanied by an exhibition of the products nominated for the ActiveOffice Award, which will showcase office products that are ideally suited to creating healthier workplaces in everyday working life. The key feature these exhibits share is that they include especially movement-promoting and healthy elements and thereby contribute to fostering a health culture in organisations.

On Thursday, 25 October 2018, visitors will have the chance to vote for their favourites and help choose the winner of the audience prize. The official prize-giving ceremony for the ActiveOffice Award will be held on the same day at 5 p.m. The ActiveOffice Award is the first award for outstanding product solutions that promote movement and health in work environments. Further information and the award application forms can be found at www.active-office.eu.
