Biophilic design - the art of well-being. Designing sustainable, healthy interiors

Biophilia means love of life. It explains people's attraction to nature and the desire to be connected to it. The term was created by the German-American social psychologist Erich Fromm and popularised in the 1980s by Edward O. Wilson, an American biologist. According to the idea of biophilia, after hundreds of thousands of years as part of nature, we have a genetic connection to the natural environment.

Fromm and Wilson recognised the strong connection humans have to nature and how living in cities is equally detrimental.
