The event

The digital transformation is causing uncertainty, and Germany and Europe are at risk of being left behind globally. Companies have to find ways to integrate new transformation demands into their organisational structure. Transformation processes such as digitalisation and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the world of work and life require new skills – so-called future skills.

In addition to traditional core competencies such as problem-solving skills and creativity, these primarily include technical and digital skills such as analysing and competently handling data, learning and using programming languages and skills in the field of AI or robotics. Unfortunately, these skills are currently not or only insufficiently taught in schools and training programmes.

Wolfram Sauer talks to Fetsum Sebhat and Teddy Tewelde, who are co-founders of the Future Skills Alliance with PxP Embassy alongside several other organisations, of which Teddy Tewelde is also a board member, about their dream of a future education system. How should learning, education and economy change? What role will future skills play in this? And how can future skills be anchored in education today?
