The event
With all its negative side effects, the supposed pandemic had a positive effect - it acted as a fire accelerator for the introduction of mobile working, especially in the home office. Even employees of public authorities now have the opportunity to work from home.
This has many positive effects: Avoiding long commuting times, a better work-private life integration and, ideally, better conditions for some activities, such as a quieter working environment with fewer disruptions. However, in addition to these positive effects, working from home also leads to a loosening of employees' ties to the company, the exchange and transfer of knowledge within the company suffers and most office buildings are now even more vacant than they already were before.
One of the key questions that companies are therefore asking themselves today is: What services are needed in the office to encourage employees to return to the office, what makes it attractive for them to make the move? As a result, the functional requirements for the office environment and the available functions are changing. Topics such as retreat, feel-good factors and informal communication are taking on a whole new significance.
In this tour, we take a critical look at how the office furniture industry is interpreting this change and what products it is responding to it with.
