On Koleksiyon

Koleksiyon is founded in 1972 as “an industry in the service of design” by an architect, Faruk Malhan. Years of collaborations with architects and designers, guided by the family’s art direction, resulted in the accumulation of innovative designs for a global portfolio, serving customers around the world. This portfolio is a result of Koleksiyon’s quest for artisanal and artistic qualities, filtered through aesthetic and ethic judgements, to create designs which have a documentary value.

What brings so many diverse looking pieces together in a unique portfolio, from tea cups, rugs, textiles, to furniture for homes and for contract and offices, is the design quest of a post-human era. Koleksiyon has been continuously researching the themes and ideas such as; co-existence, co-creation, open work, shared economy etc. These are the inherent values upon which Koleksiyon builds her corporate design involvement towards our planet, with an equal interest in protecting living and non-living organisms, rejecting the hegemonic disciplines of human centered disruptions.

Today, besides her own industry producing furniture for Offices, Contracts and Home, Koleksiyon has created a habitat with side industries that produce her designs as; tableware, accessories, lamps, rugs, textiles etc. The founding motto has today evolved into “an organization in the service of Design”.
