ORGATEC, the leading international trade fair for modern worlds of work, is extending its offer for architects, planners, engineers and construction multipliers by entering a cooperation with architectureworld and the German Hotel Day. 2018 the two congress fairs are being held with the framework of ORGATEC. As such ORGATEC is reinforcing the infrastructure, real estate, architecture and interior activities of the real estate industry and enabling a larger spectrum of architects an extensive exchange on the challenges of the industry.
The new demands in building and hotel construction through improved networking and digitalisation require involving architecture in the planning of office and hotel buildings at a very early stage. Addressing these industry challenges collaboratively and interactively is the aim of the agreed cooperation. As such ORGATEC is underlining its claim of viewing worlds of work in a holistic manner and redefining them. Based on precisely this future-looking theme, the congress trade fairs architectureworld and the German Hotel Day both have the approach of integrating architecture more intensively in the planning of commercial and hotel buildings. Especially the networking of and in buildings plays a major role at architectureworld. The German Hotel Day fits in well here in terms of contents and enhances the theme in the sections (interior) architecture, facade design as well as technology issues of hotel chains, private hotels or even old people's homes. Spanning 6,000 square metres, ORGATEC 2018 offers the two congress fairs in Hall 10 sufficient space over the five days of the trade fair for both the top-class lecture programme of renowned architects and experts from all over the globe as well as for the exhibition that is held parallel.
As a result of the concentration of the three specialised events, ORGATEC aims to improve the creative exchange, networking and collaboration with the persons involved in the planning and the construction and provide ideas for a new culture of working. architectureworld has excelled for the last 15 years with a demanding congress programme for architects, planners, engineers and construction multipliers. "World stars" of the architecture scene will also present their notions of modern buildings, hold innovative expert lectures and talk about new materials and technologies for the construction industry, commercial buildings and hotels during ORGATEC in Cologne.
For example a lecture round entitled "Renovation instead of new construction" will deal with the issue of what has to be taken into consideration when renovating office and hotel buildings. The lectures on the topic "The healthy office and hotel" will focus on the strategic room planning and the networking of interfaces and in the lectures on the theme "BIM in the construction sector" the demands the digitalisation brings with it will be discussed. Moreover, the congress programme is fundamentally recognised by the Chamber of Architects and Engineers as a training measure. Entrance to both events is free of charge in the scope of ORGATEC. It is possible to pre-register online with one's own Print@home ticket from spring 2018 onwards.
The world of architecture will totally focus on Cologne from 23 to 27 October. That is namely when ORGATEC opens its doors and becomes the global meeting point for architectures, planners and engineers as well as industry and trade experts. As the only innovation and trend trade fair, it presents the whole world of work, tackles the big questions and presents creative solutions for the demands of the worlds of work of tomorrow under the motto "Rethinking work": from furnishing to flooring, acoustics and lighting to media and data processing.
